The Savvy Picker travels around the southeast looking for vintage merchandise to stock her brick-and-mortar and online shops. She recently visited the North Georgia Mountains, where she stopped in at the Victory Home Thrift Store. Keep reading to check out her hauls and pick up a few tricks of the trade.
When the Savvy Picker looked up Victory Home Thrift Store, she wasn’t sure it would offer the kind of things she was looking for, based on the Google images that popped up. But since Tallulah Falls, where it is located, was between point A and point B on her route, she decided to stop in. She wasn’t disappointed.
The Victory Home Thrift Store is housed in a large building with high ceilings and wide aisles, which gives the store a spacious, easy-to-navigate feeling. This store also provides shopping carts, which certainly makes it easy to stockpile goods while shopping.
One of my favorite finds here was this pair of fruit prints in beautiful hand-painted frames. Here they are, displayed in my shop.
But the biggest score at this shop came in a smaller package. Always drawn to blue and white porcelain, I was lucky enough to pick up two of these lidded green tea cups. When I got home, I discovered they were Yunomi Arita yaki ware Japanese Green Tea Cups that currently sell new (and on eBay) for $180 each!
Because the store is laid out in a way that is easy to navigate, it just took me a few minutes to look around, load up a cart, and head to the checkout with the aforementioned items and some nice mid-century pieces, including a green glass vase, a ceramic planter, and a cool MCM ceramic candelabra.
So put Victory Home Thrift on your list of places to visit! It won’t take long to look around in the pleasant atmosphere, and there’s so much inventory you’re likely to find something you can’t pass up! Plus, like many thrift stores, this one supports a great cause: Addiction Recovery Center for Men.
The Victory Home Thrift Store is located at 130 Victory Home Lane, off of GA 15/US 441 in Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
Who should visit: Shoppers with a few minutes to look around.

Re-seller takeaway: Save time by picking up a cart on your way in, even if you don’t think you’ll need one.
