Letters to the Editor

Now Habersham encourages you to submit letters that share your opinions on issues of interest to residents in our community and Northeast Georgia.

Letters must be emailed to [email protected] and must include the writer’s name, address, and phone number for verification purposes.

Letters accepted for publication will be published with the author’s name, along with their town and/or county of residence. Anonymous letters and those whose authors’ identities can not be verified will not be published. Letters may be edited for length and clarity.

Now Habersham reserves the right of refusal for any content that may be deemed inconsistent with our professional and ethical standards (see below).

  • Letters containing language or content that is blatantly offensive, or that the editor feels is inappropriate, will not be published. This includes letters containing foul, threatening, and/or bullying language. Letters threatening violence will be rejected.
  • Letters that contain statements that are libelous or slanderous will not be published, nor will letters that include attacks of a personal nature.
  • Letters written in response to other letter writers should address the issue at hand, rather than mentioning the writer by name, and should refer to the headline and date the letter was published. Letters referring to news stories should also mention the headline and date of publication.
  • Letters regarding an election issue or candidate will not be published the day before election day.

Now Habersham retains the right to update this submission policy as necessary. Any updates will be published on this page. All questions regarding this policy and Letters to the Editor should be directed to [email protected].
