Funeral services for Roy Garrison Justus, age 90 of Clarkesville, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bennett Clough will officiate with interment to follow the service in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
Mr. Justus passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Roy Garrison Justus was born in Batesville, Georgia on October 7, 1928. At the age of 18, he joined the Air Force and served for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His first overseas assignment was England, where he had the very good fortune to meet and marry Eva Mary Thomason. Together, Roy and Eva traveled and lived in many different places, courtesy of the Air Force, and raised four children. After retirement, the family made their home in Tallulah Falls, building a home on Little Panther Creek. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, listening to gospel music, attending church and spending time with his family.. In addition to his parents, Mr. Justus is preceded in death by wife Eva Thomason Justus, son Mark Justus, brother Willie J. Justus and sister Mary Cross Franklin.
Survivors include daughters Pat Justus (Woody Parr) of Cornelia, Lisa Justus Poorman (Bill) of Huntsville, Alabama, son Richard Justus (Janice) of Clarkesville, sister Rachael Craver of Clarkesville, grandchildren Chanda, Josh, Luke, Nick, Kris, and Kevin, four great grandchildren and number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
