Lydia Eugenia Walz Bruce, age 91 of Clarkesville, passed away May 4, 2025.
Born in Lochhausen, Germany, on July 6, 1933, Mrs. Bruce was the daughter of the late Diones and Anna Huber Walz. Mrs. Bruce spent over 44 years serving various Atlanta area dentists as a hygienist. While her children were young, Mrs. Bruce also worked a second job at Rich’s Department Store for over 18 years. She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was active and loved her church family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bruce is preceded in death by her husband, George Bruce; her son, James McMichen, Jr.; her daughter, Ginger Wellham; and her granddaughter, Pamela Wellham.
Survivors include daughter Teresa McMichen House of Mt. Airy, granddaughter Emily Wiley of Tallapoosa, great-granddaughter Madeline Wellham of Dahlonega, and great-grandson Chase Lytle of Tallapoosa, as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Chapel.
Burial will take place Monday, May 12th at 4:00 PM at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglasville.
