Phoebe Cook Dillashaw, age 87 of Cornelia, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at her residence.
Born in Winder, Georgia on November 18, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Johnnie Lou Thompson Cook. She was an avid sports fan who was an All-State basketball player for Winder High School in the mid-40’s. She also was a strong Republican who enjoyed politics and watching westerns.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dillashaw was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William L. “Wick” Dillashaw, Jr.; brother, Doc Cook; sisters, Edna Hulsey, Maxine Skinner, Ann Mount, Frances Clack, and Johnnie Akins.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bill & JoAnne Dillashaw and Bob & Elaine Dillashaw all of Cornelia; brothers, Jack Cook and Harry Cook both of Winder; grandchildren, Clay & Bonnie Dillashaw, Chris Dillashaw, Taylor & Kyle London, and Natalie Houston; six great-grandchildren.
