Mr. William Andrew “Andy” Johnson age 84, of Cornelia, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at Habersham Medical Center.
A son of the late Julius and Sarah Craig Johnson, he was born January 31, 1937, in Rabun County, Georgia, having lived most of his life in Habersham County. He loved to hunt, fish, gardening, and camping. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was the best shot with a flip. He was a member of Community Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother Neville Johnson, sisters Edith Smith, Sue Underwood, and Essie Lee Osborne.
Survivors include his wife of the home Vernie Burns Johnson, four sons and daughters-in-law Dean and Sheila Johnson of Toccoa, Gary and Tiffany Johnson of Braselton, Georgia, Jon and Jayden Johnson of Toccoa and A.J. Johnson of Cornelia, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, two sisters Ollie Westmoreland of Westminster, South Carolina and Pollie Moss of Walhalla, South Carolina.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with his grandson Kyle Johnson and the Reverend Robert Clark. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 P.M. til 7 P.M.
Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Noah Johnson, Evan Pledger, Trent Thomason, Denver Armour, Roger Holland, and Robert Moss.
