Voting precinct changes in Habersham

Early voting will now be held at the Habersham North Precinct in the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center.

The Habersham County Board of Elections is moving two voting locations.

The board voted to move early voting out of the county administration building into the Habersham North Precinct at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville.

The board is also moving the Demorest precinct from that city’s fire department/municipal building into Concord Baptist Church.

Both changes will take effect for the November 3 General Election.

Early voting

Early voting will open at the Habersham North Precinct on October 13. Voters may cast ballots there from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday through October 30.

The Habersham South Precinct at First Baptist Church of Cornelia will be open for Saturday voting Oct. 24 and for Advanced voting the week of Oct. 26.

The Habersham North precinct will be open for Saturday voting from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on October 17 and 24.

Habersham South, located at First Baptist Church of Cornelia, will be open for Saturday voting on October 24 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and for advanced voting the week prior to the election, October 26-30, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Demorest Precinct

The new Demorest Precinct will operate from the cafeteria in the old Demorest Elementary School where Concord Baptist is housed. The church is located at 250 Alabama Street.

All voters assigned there will receive new precinct cards with the location and address, according to the Habersham County Elections Office.

Election supervisor and registrar Laurel Ellison says Demorest voters who do not receive new precinct cards within the next couple of weeks should contact her office at 706-839-0170.
