‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with a good chance for snow

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all ‘cross the state
The children were anxious, they just couldn’t wait
For up on the housetop, a beautiful sight
Soon roofs will be covered in a blanket of white

An arctic front’s carrying cold through the land
Greeting Santa and reindeer as they deliver gifts to their fans
Snow showers will spread from the west to the east
While families prepare their Christmas Eve feast

As you wake Christmas morning in the mountains you’ll find
The ground with maybe an inch of white powder enshrined
The mountains will see most of the snow
But there may be some lower for some lucky souls

Temps will be cold, downright bitter in fact
Lows around 20 will leave water pipes wracked
Highs Christmas day won’t be much better than that
The coldest day yet, grab your coat and a hat

Winds will be gusty, 25 miles or more
Making the cold colder, cutting right to the core
Snow flurries and showers may appear through the day
Giving some a white Christmas, yippee hooray!

As we move into Saturday the temps will soon warm
As we enter a lull between two big storms
Highs into the 40s with warm sunny skies
Though teens in the morning you’ll find when you rise

As for this rhyming forecaster, it’s time to say goodbye
I’m out to hunt snowflakes as they fall from the sky
So good luck to you all, may your Christmas be white
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night
