Trace Cate Earns 2024 NCAA Division III ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove

DEMOREST, Ga. – Piedmont baseball Lion Trace Cate has been awarded the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award. He is one of three outfielders across Division III selected for the honor.

The outfielder from Marietta played right field for the Lions, posting 128 putouts without an error across 42 games in 2024.

An all-around player, Cated posted the best batting average on the team with a .374 and earned All-Region honors from the ABCA/Rawlings.

Cate becomes just the third Lion in program history to earn a Gold Glove during his career at Piedmont. Another outfielder,  Carter Ballstadt, won the honor in 2021, and Kevin Caldwell earned a Gold Glove as a pitcher in 2013.
