TED E. TERRY, age 74 of Cornelia, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on June 29, 1940, he was a son of the late Pearlean Cragg Terry and William Hollis Terry. Mr. Terry grew up in the Habersham Mills Community before moving to Ohio at the age of 19 to marry his wife in March of 1960. He retired as a stationary boiler engineer for The Timken Roller Bearings Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his brothers Junior Rembert Terry and James Terry and grandson, Matthew McClellan.
Mr. Terry was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite mason and a 50 year member of the Cornelia Masonic Lodge #92 F. & A.M., where he recently received his emeritus status. He was also a member of the Mountaineer Shrine Club. In his spare time, Mr. Terry enjoyed antique cars, working outdoors, and going to flea markets.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Ann Terry of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Jeff Amatangelo of Canal Fulton, Ohio; daughter and companion, Penni Cerwinsky and Randy Hodge of Canton, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Terry Tench & Hoyt Tench of Cornelia; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Terry of Cornelia; grandchildren, Jeff, Kyle and Annamarie Alessandro and Cory Amatangelo; three great-grandchildren; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating and Masonic graveside rites provided by the Cornelia Masonic Lodge #92 F. & A.M.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 20.
