An approaching strong front will bring a risk of strong to severe storms overnight Tuesday.
The Storm Prediction Center has varied areas over the region as the line of storms is expected to be weakening. However, an enhanced (level 3/5) risk for NW Georgia with slight (level 2/5) and marginal (level 1/5) risks exist for the rest of the region.
Individual risk areas show a particularly high risk of strong winds to our west over North Alabama and parts of Tennessee. Locally, the risk will be less widespread and lower as the storms weaken. However, upper level dynamics are very strong so any storms that persist will certainly be capable of producing damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.
The storms are expected to move through North Georgia from 11PM-4AM, with an arrival from 1-3AM locally.
