Spring has sprung

The official start to spring isn’t until March 21st, but that isn’t stopping our weather from turning very spring-like this week.

We’ll see widespread showers on Monday, particularly during the first half of the day, as a low pressure system winds up off the southeast coast. This will keep us cool with a northeast breeze and highs only in the 50s.

Behind this low pressure system a very spring-like airmass will “spring” up as high pressure builds in. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will soar into the low-70s under sunny skies.

Thursday, and more importantly Thursday night for our lunar eclipse, are currently looking rather cloudy. Some scattered showers are possible Thursday afternoon as a weak, disorganized system moves through. We’ll be watching this extremely closely with hopes to see less clouds so we can get a good view of the first eclipse since 2022.

Friday will continue to see partly cloudy skies with highs again up into the 70s.

We likely aren’t completely clear of winter just yet. There are signs of some cooler days in the extended with multiple frost risks between now and the end of the month, especially for the mountains.

Have a great week and stay tuned for the latest on the lunar eclipse weather!
