Sherry Jeneanne Lomax, age 69, of Alto, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Born on May 8, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Votaw Hancock and Beverly Jean Ulrey. Mrs. Lomax retired from Rheem as a manager. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee and had a love of animals, especially cats, and riding horses. She valued simple things in life, such as collecting small keepsakes and trinkets. Sherry was one who never met a stranger and never complained, even during her recent illness. She could be described as positive, selfless, and a lover of the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jim Ulrey.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Lomax of Alto; sons, Ty Ellard (Jennifer Cohrs) of Alto and Steven Lomax, Jr. of Cornelia; grandchild, Corey Lomax of Cornelia; brother, Mark Hancock of Indiana; and numerous other extended relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.
