Sara Frances Sanders, age 88, of Lula (Gillsville Community), entered heaven peacefully Sunday morning, March 5, 2023, at her residence.
Frances was born in Jackson County, Georgia, to the late Jack & Nettie Maney Seay. She retired from a career in sewing. She worked for many years in this industry, working at Barrow Manufacturing, Warren Featherbone & Gillsville Manufacturing. Frances was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gillsville, where she was very active. She taught the 4 & 5-year-old class for many years. She loved her family and loved spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James W. “Billy” Sanders & nephew, Josh Armour.
Left to cherish precious memories, sons, Graylen & Linda Sanders, Jason & Sharon Sanders; grandchildren, Brian Sanders, Stephen & Danielle Sanders, Jake Sanders & Matt Sanders; sisters, Evelyn (Donald) Lord & Brenda (Dennis) Smith; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Nancy & Jewell Armour; a number of nieces, nephews & other relatives also survive.
Funeral services honoring Frances will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Duncan & Rev. Tommy Seay officiating. She will be laid to next to her husband at Emmanuel Community Church Cemetery (formerly known as Pine Grove Baptist Church) with John Wayne Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, and again from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, both days at the funeral home.
