Ruzelle Lewallen Patterson, age 94, of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.
Mrs. Patterson was born on August 26, 1929, in Banks County, Georgia, to the late James W. and Madge E. Coffee Lewallen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Georgia Milton Patterson; son, Gregory Alan Patterson; daughter, Amy Faye Patterson; sister, Jeanette Lewallen Watkins; brothers, Swayne Lewallen, Nelson Lewallen, Owen Lewallen, Clay Lewallen, and Ray Lewallen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Patterson was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Danny Irvin, of Homer; grandchildren Joseph Irvin, Nick and Misty Irvin, and Stephen Irvin, Homer; sisters-in-law Lynn Lewallen, Frances Lewallen, Helen Lewallen, Glenda Lewallen, Peggy Lewallen, and Mary Anne Head; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Duane Eller and Rev. Scott Smith officiating. A private interment will follow in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the funeral home prior to the service.
