Biker killed in crash near Hollywood

A motorcyclist was killed in a wreck Monday morning on US 441 near Hollywood. He has been identified as 70-year-old Donald Lewis Miller of Mooresville, North Carolina.

According to the Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary investigation, Miller was driving an R 1250 GS BMW west on Hollywood Hills Road. He attempted to cross over the highway and was struck by a southbound Jeep Wrangler driven by 23-year-old Wyatt Turner of Mt. Airy.

Emergency units administered CPR at the scene, but Miller was unresponsive, according to the State Patrol report. He was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead.

The wreck happened just before 10:30 a.m. on March 18. Troopers from GSP Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the crash. The report states that they notified Troop B’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, but SCRT did not respond.

No charges have been filed. According to GSP Post 7 Commander Donnie Saddler, the wreck remains under investigation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of today’s victim, with the other driver, and with all those impacted by this tragedy,” said Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire.
