Peter Brock Gray

Peter Brock Gray of Seneca, SC, and Lakemont, Georgia, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on March 5, 2023, at the age of 45.

Peter lived life to the fullest and lived more in his 45 years than most people do in a lifetime. He lived with his feet on the ground, and his eyes focused on Jesus and eternity. Peter was in this world but not of this world. He was the true living example of Christ in us. Peter was generous of heart and spirit, and he never met a stranger. His work was his ministry, and his heart poured out over the needs of others. He spent his free time volunteering at the Open Arms Free Medical Clinic in Toccoa, GA. Peter’s life mission was focused on building the kingdom of heaven on earth.

Peter loved hiking, being outdoors, and enjoying God’s beautiful creation. Peter loved visiting his sister Sunday in Europe, visiting his sister Susan in Hawaii, scuba diving in the in the tropics with his brother Samuel and camping with his best friend and late brother, Michael.

He had a heart for medical missions and served and supported many mission groups around the world. He was a member of a Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, GA. He had a gift of music ,and his passion was worshiping The Lord in song. He was a member of the Honors Chorale at Seneca High School, where he formed many long-lasting friendships. He graduated from the College of Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina. Peter was a Physician Assistant in Clarkesville and Toccoa, GA, and the co-founder of Clarkesville Dermatology and Medical Associates with his dear colleague, Dr. Shri Nadig.

Peter is from Seneca, South Carolina, and was the son of Marvin Granville Gray, Jr. and Dr. Sandra Lowry Gray. He was a beloved father to Isaac, Clara, and Lillian. His heart was his children, and everything he did was for them. He is survived by his partner Megan Adams of Georgia, brother Dr. Samuel Gray and wife, Heather, with sons Simon and Elliott, sister Sunday Gray and husband Henry Romijn, with daughters Alexandra, Fleur, and Giselle; Dr. Susan Hurley, with husband Dr. Jacob Hurley and their children Charles, George, Daniel, Leilani, and Theodore, and his late brother Michael Granville Gray. Michael was his best friend, and we rejoice that they are reunited and hiking together on the streets of gold in Heaven.

Please join us in a celebration of Peter’s life at Seneca Baptist Church on March 10th. The receiving of friends begins at 11:00 am, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm, followed by a burial service at Ramsey Creek Preserve. We rejoice in the fact that Peter is alive in Christ and take great comfort in knowing that to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.
