
Paul A. Howard, Sr., age 86, of Demorest, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Mr. Howard was born on October 10, 1938, in Social Circle, Georgia, to the late Charlie B. Howard and Lois Cheney Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Gene Howard.
Paul was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon. His deep devotion to Christ guided his every step, and he served as a deacon at multiple churches in Florida, including New Hope Baptist Church, where he was ordained as well as First Baptist Church in Clermont, Florida. Paul’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he found joy in serving others and sharing the love of God. Paul was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Air Force for four years and also spent time in the National Guard. He had retired from Lockheed Martin, where he worked in the security and fire prevention department for 39 years before his well-earned retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Alice Plunkett Howard, of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Bill Bursztynski, of Madisonville, KY; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Tammy Howard, of Demorest; sister, Cherry Douglas, of Alabama; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of New Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, Georgia, with Dr. Josh Taylor and Rev. Bill Bursztynski officiating and military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
