
Oliver Alexander Trotter, age 99, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 3. 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Trotter was born on September 7, 1925, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Frankie Vandiver Trotter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Brent Trotter and Tony Szatkowski; brothers Bob Trotter, Tom Trotter, Bill Trotter, Lawrence Trotter, and Johnny Trotter; and sisters Stella Knowles, Ethel Ramey, Leona Trotter, Viola Trotter, and Pat Kroswek.
Oliver answered the call to serve his country at a young age, enlisting in the United States Army. He bravely served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, Oliver worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, retiring with 31 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dora Tench Trotter, of Lula; sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Linda Trotter, of Lula; Dennis and Anita Trotter, of Lula; David and Beth Trotter, of Birchtree, MO; Dwight and Ruth Trotter, of Wrightstown, NJ; grandchildren, Brian, James, Matthew, Jonathan, Rachel, Meaghan, Krystal, Darrell, Eric, Vanessa, Rene, Jose, and Loida Sophia; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by the United States Army and Grant-Reeves VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the funeral home prior to the service.
