Franklin Springs Mayor Lee Moore today took a bold move in eliminating all doubt about who he’s supporting in the District 50 State Senate runoff.
Moore, who ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination in the June 9 primary, took to social media to address what he called “confusion” over his stance in the race.
As Now Habersham first reported on Tuesday, Moore and two other former District 50 challengers, Tricia Hise and Andy Garrison are supporting Bo Hatchett over Stacy Hall. Some questioned whether reports of Moore’s support were accurate.
Today, Moore issued an unequivocal endorsement.
“Bo Hatchett is an honest man, and he had my permission to publicize my support of him,” Moore wrote. “I am NOW formally ENDORSING Bo Hatchett for State Senate.”
Moore encouraged voters in the district to vote for Bo saying Hatchett will “protect our conservative values and work hard to grow the economy.”
The race between Hatchett and Hall is growing more heated as both candidates try to convince voters they’re the best person to succeed outgoing District 50 State Senator John Wilkinson. Wilkinson chose not to seek reelection in order to run for Congress.
