Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Shook Roberts, age 80, of Cornelia will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Oakey Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Brion Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Oakey Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mrs. Roberts passed away March 28, 2016.
Born February 1, 1936, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Clifford and Myrtle Marie Smith Shook. Mrs. Roberts loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters with all of her heart. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Oakey Mountain Baptist Church and was employed for many years with BMJ Bank in Bordentown, New Jersey.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers James and Albert Shook; sister Mae Shaw; and father in law and mother in law Edward and Naomi Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband of 60 years Edward T. Roberts of Cornelia; son Stanley Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia; daughter Lisa Heenan of Martin, Georgia; grandchildren Edward B. Roberts and wife Stacie of Temecula, California, Brian D. Roberts and wife Jessica of Jackson, New Jersey, Daniel J. Immordino, Jr. of Martin Georgia, Melissa L. Heenan of Martin, Georgia; great grandchildren Brinn and Rylan Roberts of Temecula, California, Damien Daze Immordino of Martin, Georgia and Jace Pruitt of Martin,, Georgia; brother Jerry Shook and wife Sarah of Alto, Georgia, brother Lamar Shook and wife Shirley of Demorest, Georgia; sister Ida Lee Gragg and husband Wayne of Batesville, Georgia, sister Patricia Chastain and husband David of Mt. Airy, Georgia; sister in law Eva Nell Shook of Batesville, Georgia.
