Martha Catheryn “Cathy” Caudell Boone, 87, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Ms. Boone was born on February 28, 1937, in Banks County, Georgia, to the late Hoke Caudell, Sr. and Addie Newsome Caudell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jo Caudell and Evelyn Willoughby; brothers, Everage Caudell, Theodore Caudell, Hoke Caudell, Jr., Ulysses Caudell, and Harry Caudell.
Cathy was a lifelong member of Damascus Baptist Church and had attended Brookhaven Baptist Church. Cathy dedicated over 35 years of her life to Avon before retiring. Never one to be idle, she spent her retirement years caring for others at Lynbrook Assisted Living, offering compassion and comfort to those in need. Her generosity and willingness to help others were hallmarks of her character, and she touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness. Above all, Cathy’s greatest joy was her family. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her as a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Survivors include her sons, Jack Dennis Boone, of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Keith Boone and Tammy, of Locust Grove; son, Michael Dale Boone, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Jennifer Strickland and Bobby; Otto Daniel Boone, X; great-grandchildren, Landyn Strickland and Wesley Strickland; brother, Douglas Caudell and Patricia, of Toccoa; sister, Sandra J. Caudell, of Homer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025.
