Marlene Mealor Worley

Marlene Mealor Worley, age 80 of Homer, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

Born in Banks County on April 21, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Bertha Caudell Mealor. Mrs. Worley was retired from Ethicon and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking, sewing and most of all spending time with her family.  She loved the Lord and enjoyed good gospel singing.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chevis F. Worley; sisters, Eula Mae Cook and Shelby Jean Mote; brothers, Loran and Leroy Mealor; grandson, Josh Worley.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Angie Worley and Cecil and Patti Worley all of Homer; grandchildren and spouses, Bryson and Allison Worley of Gainesville, Jake and Shannon Worley of Toccoa, Brandon and Adrienne Worley of Jefferson, Dustin Worley of Homer and Vicki Worley Payne and Dustin Payne of Baldwin; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Dill of Homer; brothers, Jarvis Mealor of Homer and J.C. Mealor of Mt. Airy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 2 pm Thursday, December 24, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev.  Roy G. Rogers and Rev. Gene Todd officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
