Habersham County authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday night on Chitwood Road in Demorest.
At approximately 9:18 p.m. on March 24 deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a man down.
“Upon arrival Deputies located a white male in the roadway with what appeared to be a self-inflicted injury and was deceased on scene,” says Habersham County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz.
The Habersham County Coroner responded to the scene.
The incident is currently being investigated by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division and the Habersham County Coroner.
