Linda Kay Buffington, age 81, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at her residence.
Linda was born July 25, 1941, in Gainesville to the late Bill & Lillie Mae Loggins Patterson. She retired and had worked for over 20 years of service with Country Pride Poultry Company, and she & her former husband owned & operated Buffington Pine Straw Company for years. She was preceded in death by sons Aaron Edge & Alvin George Edge and her brother Billy Boy Patterson.
Surviving are her daughters, Johnnie Kay Edge Kytle (William) & Lisa Ann Buffington; grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) Burkett, Kristopher Burkett, Jessica Kytle & Lacie Kytle; great-grandchildren, Denver Burkett, Henry Burkett, Emma Kytle, & Kinsley Kytle and a host of other relatives survive.
Funeral services honoring Linda will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday July 6, 2023, at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shannon Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Gillsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
