Law enforcement is putting New Year’s Eve partiers on alert: If you drink, don’t drive! A post to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Facebook page starts with a simple question, “Going out tonight?” Followed by a warning, “SO ARE WE!”
The words are superimposed over a picture of a H.E.A.T. patrol car. (H.E.A.T. stands for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic.)
The post goes on to read, “Don’t let you(r) New Year start in the County Jail. If you are going out tonight make sure that you have a designated driver.”
The Georgia State Patrol is posting similar warnings on its social media sites, urging people not to drink and drive.
