It’s cold in Georgia but things are heating up in California where the Georgia Bulldogs are preparing to take on the Oklahoma Sooners New Year’s Day in the Rose Bowl.
The 2018 College Football Playoff semifinal between No. 3 Georgia and No. 2 Oklahoma marks the first time Georgia has played in a Rose Bowl since 1943. UGA fans flocked to Pasadena eager to soak up the pre-game revelry and, hopefully, post-game victory parties on Monday.
The winner of Monday’s game will advance to the national college bowl championship game to face off against Clemson or Alabama, whichever team wins the Sugar Bowl.
One of the team’s most ardent fans is Cornelia’s own Max Hise. The enthusiastic 6-year-old was interviewed by Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Jennifer Brett outside a Beverly Hills restaurant on Friday. The video was picked up and shared by Atlanta’s WSB-TV.
Max’s mom is Clarkesville attorney and Georgia alum Tricia Hise.
The Rose Bowl airs live on ESPN Monday, January 1, 2018, starting at 5 p.m. ET. Subscribers may also live stream the game on the WatchESPN app.
The Sugar Bowl airs live on ESPN Jan. 1 starting at 8:45 p.m. ET.
