The Demorest Water Department has lifted the Boil Water Advisory it issued following a major water line break on September 14. The advisory was issued as a precaution while water samples were tested for possible contamination.
The advisory area included Georgia Street from Oak Avenue south to Piedmont College Circle and Laurel Avenue from Georgia Street to Florida Street.
Demorest water customers in the affected area may now resume normal water use.
