James “Jake” Pink Dill

James “Jake” Pink Dill, age 75, of Mt. Airy, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, following an extended illness.

Mr. Dill was born on June 14, 1944, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to the late Clifford and Beatrice Hurt Dill. He was a retired long-haul driver with Ethicon.  He was a veteran having proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Mr. Dill was of the Baptist faith.  In his younger years, Mr. Dill was an avid motorcycle racer.

He made everyone laugh and kept a great sense of humor throughout his battle with MS.

Jake is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kayce and Kevin Caywood, Mt. Airy, GA; daughter, Kari Dill, Decatur, GA; three sisters:  Faye Unbehant, Mt. Airy, GA, Janice Griggs, Cornelia, GA, and Margaret Unbehant, Demorest, GA;  a number of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, also survive.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.  A private Inurnment will follow in the VFW Cemetery, Demorest, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from the Whitfield Funeral Home South Chapel.
