Irene Elizabeth Stortz, age 99 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed into eternity on October 27, 2021.
She was born to Harry and Ella Kuhn on May 2, 1922, in Middletown, NY and where she was raised with her six sisters. In 1943, she joined the WASP (Women’s Airforce Service Pilots) and then to Minnesota where she taught flying lessons. She married her loving husband Harrison in 1945 and they had seven children. In 1970, they moved to Stuart, Florida, where she was active in real estate as a broker. She and Harrison happily retired to beautiful Northeast Georgia in 2000, where they were closer to family. She enjoyed artwork and gardening. She will be remembered for her warmth, gentleness, and beauty both inside and out.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at St. Mark Catholic Church with Father Norberto officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery.
