John 15:12-13, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
I think we’re failing…
Failing to love each other as Jesus loved us. Failing to put others before our own desires. Failing to understand the depth of friendship and the sacrifice it requires. Failing to see the world through the eyes of Jesus Christ.
Failure is not necessarily a bad thing. The reality of failure is, it is a good teacher. Failure allows us to learn something if we are willing to listen to it. It doesn’t have to be defeat – but a temporary detour off one path and onto another.
The chaos of the world in which we live shows us we’re failing at doing what God has asked us to do; however, maybe the chaos of the world is exactly what we need to learn and change and grow. The tragedy comes only if we do nothing, say nothing, and change nothing. Then failure has not become our teacher but our destiny.
Failure has a place simply in the fact that it helps us to see we have a great deal to learn.
Today, I challenge you to show love, compassion, and kindness to those around you. Follow His command. It starts with you and me.
