Horace David Tatum, age 72, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Mr. Tatum was born on March 4, 1952, in Chamblee, Georgia, to the late Horace Newbert Tatum and Lorine Mulligan Tatum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Tatum; sisters-in-law, Sonya Tatum; Joyce Tatum and nephew, Robert Tatum.
For many years, Mr. Tatum worked as a janitor with Fulton County Schools and Gwinnett County Schools. A faithful Christian, Mr. Tatum attended Victory Baptist Church in Clarkesville, Victory Baptist Church in Cumming, and Clearview Baptist Church in Cornelia. He took great joy in attending services and supporting the churches he called home. Above all, Mr. Tatum will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Deloris Tatum, of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Denice and Grover Shirley, of Cornelia; son, Joshua David Tatum, of Gordon; sister, Patricia Fouts, of Cumming; brothers, Marvin Tatum, of Norcross; James Tatum, of Commerce; Larry Tatum, of Salt Lake City, UT; granddaughter and spouse, Larissa Denise Salado de oleo and Moises Salado de oleo, of Cumming; brother-in-law, Thomas Herman Tallant, of Cumming; Teresa Tallant, of Clarkesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Level Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Shane Jenkins officiating.
