The National Weather Service has issued a High Fire Danger Alert for North Georgia through Thursday night due to strong gusty winds.
Low relative humidity and sustained winds of 15-20 mph increase the threat of outdoor fires spreading. Wind gusts of 30 mph are possible. Combined with the dry fuels, high fire danger conditions will continue.
Please check with your local burn permitting authorities to determine whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
Saturday’s forecast calls for lighter winds coming into the region from the northwest at 5-10 mph.
