Hazel Gladys Garner Darnell, age 91, of Cornelia, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021, following an extended illness.
Ms. Darnell was born on March 16, 1929, in Concord, North Carolina to the late Howard and Mary Seabolt Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, JL Garner, Wiley Garner, Thomas Nolan Garner, William Jack Garner, Clifford Wade Garner; sisters, Christine Smith, Fary Bell Lane, Rue Willie Hall; grandson, Trent Smith. She was owner and operator of her beauty salon, Hazel’s Pamper Room; which she operated for 33 years.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Rana Smith and Wayne Smith, Jr., of Demorest; grandson and spouse, Jake and Haley Darling, of Clarkesville; granddaughter, Jenna Smith, of Demorest; grandchildren, Trevor Smith, and Rose Beth, of Greenville, SC; Kevin Smith, of Murphy, NC; great-grandchildren, Emerson Darling, and Emma Smith.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor David Terrell officiating.
The family will receive friends directly following the graveside service.
