Southern gospel group, Karen Peck and New River will provide the musical entertainment at the Habersham EMC Annual Meeting of Members on Thursday, July 19 at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy in Mt. Airy.
The 2018 Habersham EMC Annual Meeting of members will be held Thursday, July 19 at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy at 171 Raider Circle, Mt. Airy. This year marks the cooperative’s 80th anniversary of being chartered as an electric cooperative. To celebrate this historic event, HEMC will be giving away a SUV from its fleet of vehicles to a member in attendance.
This meeting serves as the time for board elections and a business meeting for the members. “We look forward to seeing our members and their participation in the co-op’s democratic process,” states Brad Hicks, HEMC President/CEO.
During the business session, directors will be elected for three-year terms.
HEMC members may vote for one Central District position. The two board nominees are George Fry of Clarkesville (incumbent) and Jeff Herrin of Cornelia.
Members may vote for two East District positions. The board nominees are Jeff Ferguson of Clarkesville (incumbent) and Kenneth McEntire, Demorest (incumbent).
The HEMC Annual Meeting schedule includes:
3:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. – Registration and voting in the practice gym
3:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. – Barbecue meal in the cafeteria
3:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. – Member Services area in the band room
3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – Live music by Karen Peck and New River in the auditorium
6:30 p.m. – Business session and door prizes in the auditorium, including a grand prize of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer!
