Grover Lee Addis, age 60 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016.
Born in Seneca, South Carolina on November 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Lewis Addis and Frances Alexander Addis Davis. Mr. Addis was a retired police officer with Cornelia Police Department with 28 years in law enforcement. He was a Christian who enjoyed camping and hunting and was also a martial arts instructor.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Snyder Addis.
Survivors include wife of 18 years, Linda Addis of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Sheila Addis of Cleveland, David Addis of Mt. Airy, Vincent and Stefani Addis of El Paso, Texas and Isaac Addis of Toccoa; daughter and son-in-law, Randee and Scott Bennett of Tiger; sisters, Melinda Slater of West Union, South Carolina and Nancy Swafford of Walhalla, South Carolina; special friend, Wendell Wooley of Clarkesville; nine grandchildren.
Funeral services are 4 pm Thursday, March 10, 2016, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Mr. Wendell Wooley officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tiger with Rev. Mickey Woods officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
