After the tragic drowning of 19-month Charlotte “Charlie” Elizabeth Scott in Lake Hartwell on Sunday, a GoFundMe has been set up by a family member to support Charlie’s grieving parents.

“I don’t know how you’re [supposed] to go on, how you’re [supposed] to keep living when you feel this empty inside. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare, but now it’s our reality,” sister-in-law Erika Timmins writes on the GoFundMe. “Please be praying for our family, Charlie was so loved by so many. And they will all need your prayers.”

The GoFundMe Timmins set up to pay for funeral expenses has already exceeded its fundraising goal by $3,810.

According to Stephens County Coroner Christopher Stephens, around 1:34 p.m. Sunday, a 911 caller alerted officials to the drowning in the area of Ridgemore Circle. Multiple agencies from Stephens and Oconee County, South Carolina, responded to the scene.

The Oconee County Emergency Services dive team recovered the girl’s body around 3:24 p.m. on Sunday, officials say. They have not released details as to how the drowning occurred.

Scott’s body has been transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Atlanta for an autopsy. The drowning is being investigated by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and Stephens County Coroner’s Office.

“The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division found no evidence of foul play at this time,” says Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley. “This appears to be a tragic accidental drowning. A definitive ruling will be announced pending an autopsy. The family is devastated as you can imagine. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Scott family as they grieve.”

The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary. Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.
