Geneva Ruth Couch, age 85, of Clermont, entered heaven Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Gateway Health & Rehab with her loving family by her side.
Ruth was born February 4, 1938, in Dahlonega, Georgia to the late Harrison & Bell Sisk Barnes. Ruth loved to read, but she loved her Atlanta Braves baseball. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Burrell Couch; daughter, Debora Lewis; son-in-law, Raymond Lewis; grandson, Matthew Lewis.
Left to cherish precious memories, son, Randall (Sabrina) Couch; daughter, Connie Couch; grandchildren, Joshua (Priscilla) Lewis & Harrison (Hope) Couch; great-grandchildren, Emmie, Annie, Sally & Emerson; brothers, Bobby (Gayle) Barnes & Larry (Darlene) Barnes; a number of nieces, nephews & other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Baker officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Gainesville. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the funeral home.
