Four injured in two-vehicle wreck near Hollywood

Habersham EMS took four people to the hospital Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle wreck in northern Habersham County. The accident happened around 6:35 p.m. on GA-15/U.S. 441 at Hollywood Hills Road.

The State Patrol says Bobby Brinkley, 80, of Atlanta, was driving a Toyota Sienna van east on Hollywood Hills Road when he attempted to cross over the highway and pulled into the path of a northbound Ford Super Duty pickup truck. The truck, driven by 26-year-old Hunter Collins of Mountain City, struck the van on the right side.

Habersham County Emergency Services personnel extricated one person from the heavily damaged van, according to HCES Director Chad Black. Ambulances transported two of the injured patients to the trauma unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville and carried two others to the hospital in stable condition. One patient refused transport, says Black.

Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Gainesville is investigating the accident. Troopers have not released the names of the passengers involved in the wreck.

Now Habersham will update this story as new information becomes available.
