Ethelene White Hooper

Ethelene White Hooper, age 91, of Lula, passed away on January 2, 2015.
Born on March 10, 1923, in Banks County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Myra Phillips White. Mrs. Hooper was a retired seamstress and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was active in the Hallelujah Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Barrett and James C. Hooper; brothers, Clarence, J.L. and Jewell White.

Survivors include her daughter, Legita Paris of Gainesville; sons, Dale (Angie) Barrett of Lula, Donald Ray Barrett of Gainesville, Rex (Rita) Barrett of Augusta and Michael Nations of Atlanta; brother, Doyle White of Lula; sisters, Mae Smith of Lula, Francine Westbrooks of Baldwin, Betty Jo Tjepkema of Gainesville and Joyce Shubert of Lula; six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. James Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
