Authorities have released the name of the woman injured in a single vehicle accident Thursday morning on Highway 115 east of Cleveland. White County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Chapman identifies her as 62-year old Doris Carter of Cleveland.

Officials say Carter was driving an SUV eastbound on Highway 115 when she crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The accident happened just before 10 a.m. on January 28.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said, a sheriff’s deputy, who was on his way to work, arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. “Upon arrival of the Sheriffs Office they reported a female victim trapped in the car with some smoke showing from the engine compartment. The fire Department arrived on scene and immediately began extricating the patient. The patient was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Trauma Center,” said Murphy.
