Dr. Charles Austin McGahee

obit flagDr. Charles Austin McGahee, age 87 of Clarkesville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

Born in Dunwoody, Georgia on February 26, 1928, he was a son of the late Cupian Forest and Mildred Lorain Blankenship McGahee. Mr. McGahee served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He was self employed as a chiropractor in the White County area where he practiced for around 30 years. He was a bee keeper and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by step father, Lou Henry.

Mr. McGahee is survived by his wife, Inez Moore McGahee of Turnerville, daughters, Roxanne, June, Jane, and Charlotte, 3 grandchildren, and a brother, Bobby McGahee.

Funeral services are 2 pm Thursday, January 14, 2016, in the McGahee Griffin and Stewart Chapel with Rev. Austin Ivester officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
