Dennis L. Minix, age 74 of Demorest, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on June 30, 1941, he was a son of the late George and Pauline Ball Minix. Mr. Minix was the former owner and operator of Burger Chef in Holly Hill, Florida and was an active member of Cornelia United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with tools, traveling, especially camping and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Minix and a sister, Sylvia Vining.
Survivors include wife, Jean Minix of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Scott Urbanek of Flowery Branch; grandchild, Lia Urbanek; brother, Donald Minix of Waycross; sisters, Janice Bell of Waycross, Sarah Shuman of Hoboken, and Melanie Crews of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are 2 pm on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay Hughes officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
