Memorial services for CORINNE SCOTT RICE, age 85 of Clarkesville, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church with the Reverend Bob Abstein and the Reverend Sarah Fisher officiating.
Mrs. Rice died Friday, October 3, 2014.
Born in Choteau, Montana on April 5, 1929, Korky Rice was the daughter of the late Hollis and Hazel Scott. She moved to Alaska in 1946 where she met her husband Paul to whom she was married for 59 years. They moved to Georgia in 1961 to be closer to family and bought Mimosa Motel which they owned and managed for 22 years. Upon retirement they moved to Lake Burton and enjoyed years of traveling meeting numerous friends all over the country. She loved to entertain and never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband Paul Rice of Clarkesville; daughter Paula Firebaugh of Smyrna; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Dan Gibson of Lebanon, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Julie Rice of Smyrna along with four grandchildren Will Rice and wife Kacie, Blake Sumner, Katherine Corinne Firebaugh and Harrison Firebaugh, and one great grandchild Ella Kate Rice.
