Charles Leonard Harrison

Charles Leonard Harrison, age 75, of Alto, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Born at “The Charm House” in Clarkesville, Georgia, on November 06, 1947, he was a son of the late Charles H. “Spider” & Lois Margaret Murray Harrison. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Army. He served in law enforcement for over 15 years, was a former Cornelia Chief of Police, and also worked for Tallulah Falls School, where he served as a bus driver as well as a security officer before retirement. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, going on trips to the ocean, traveling, and telling tall tales. He was a member of Alto Congregational Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd Harrison.

Survivors include his loving wife, Suzanne Holland Harrison of Alto, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Len & Kristie Harrison of Baldwin, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Sharea & John Long of Cornelia, GA; MaKesha & Paul Murphy of Southport, NC; MaKayla Holcombe of Alto, GA; brother, Johnnie Harrison of KY; sister & brother-in-law, Cathy & Howard Yearwood of Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Charles Harrison of Alto, GA; Shanda Harrison of Carnesville, GA; Stuart Harrison of Cornelia, GA; Krista Harrison of Baldwin, GA; Kaveri Holcombe, Daylen Holcombe, Jaeyli Holcombe, all of Alto, GA; Zeke Murphy, Winter Murphy both of Southport, NC; 12 great-grandchildren; special friends, Carson Crocker of Alto, GA; Bernard Storey of Ipswich, UK; J.C. Kimbrell of Demorest, GA; other relatives, & a host of friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 02, 2023, at the Hillside Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard. A private family interment will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 01, 2023, and from 12 noon until the service hour on Friday, June 02, 2023.
