Celia Catherine Hunter Wallace, age 96, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, March 20, 2017, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Wallace was born on November 24, 1920, in Rabun County, Georgia, to the late Frank and Araunah Lovell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Herbert Hunter; second husband, S.H. Wallace; brothers: Chester, Porter, John B., Buman, Cecil, and Bobby; sisters: Polly, Betty, Rebecca, and baby Mary Louise; and granddaughter, Christy. Mrs. Wallace was a member of New Birth Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Celia was truly a dedicated homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tillie and Buster Williams, Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Herbert Hunter, Jr. and Carolyn, Jacksonville, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jessie and Joann Lovell, Gainesville and Lamar and Patsy Lovell, North Carolina; grandchildren: Tim, Gary and wife, Pam, and Jeff Hunter, Lanita Hunter and Dolores Hollister and husband, Brian, and their mother, Lois Hunter, Kevin Williams and wife, Misty and Clifford Williams and wife, Marie; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Pastor Johnny Truelove officiating. Interment will follow in the Timpson Cove Family Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Loudermilk officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the funeral home.
