Carrie “Carol” Ledford Black, age 77, of Demorest, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Mrs. Ledford was born on July 30, 1937 in Clayton, Georgia to the late Howard L. Ledford, Sr. and Eva May Hopper Ledford. She was a member of Habersham Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Helen Lewis, Brenda Smith, and Wanda Pittman.
Survivors include husband, William “Bill” Black, of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Jane and Tom Lewis, of North Branch, MN, April and Steve Strombaugh, of Mt. Airy, Carole and Mark Wafford, of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Polly Black, of Demorest, Phil and Martha Black, of Clarkesville, Randall and Samantha Black, of Demorest; sisters, Martha Hazel, of Hollywood, Katherine Ledford, of Hollywood, Virginia Franklin, of Clarkesville, Liz Sugg, of Hollywood, Gail Stancel, of Toccoa; brothers, Eugene Ledford, of Rabun Gap, Larry Ledford, of Hollywood, Howard Ledford, Jr., of Hollywood; 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Doug Porter and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Habersham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 18, 2015 and 1:30 until the funeral hour on Sunday, April 19, 2015
