Brenda Joan Franklin James

Brenda Joan Franklin James, age 74 of Mt. Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021.

Born at the “Charm House” in Clarkesville, Georgia on August 11, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Gladston Terrell, Sr. & Gussie Mae Alexander Franklin. Brenda worked as an insurance clerk/receptionist for the Habersham Medical Group with over 37 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed bird watching, flower & vegetable gardening as well as canning. She was a devoted wife, mother, & was affectionately known as “Meme” to all of her grandchildren. Brenda was a charter member of the Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gladston Terrell Franklin, Jr. and great-grandson, Clyde James Loudermilk.

Survivors include her husband of 54 ½ years, Tommy James; children, Greg & Connie James, Kimberly & James Loudermilk, Kristy Nation all of Mt. Airy, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Tim & Janie Franklin, sisters & brothers-in-law, Eleanor & Wally Owens, Teresa & Keith Allen all of Mt. Airy, GA; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Margaret Jenkins of Mt. Airy, GA; Sherry & Ted Roberts of Maysville, GA; grandchildren, Dedra Ramirez, Eric James, Megan & Cody Goss, Alex & Kinleigh Loudermilk, Clara Loudermilk, Ben Loudermilk, John Thomas Nation, Cheyenne Nation, & Kassie Nation; great-grandson, Waylon Loudermilk; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 01, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Connie Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Shane Jenkins officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
