Annie Bell Bishop Heard, age 85, of Cornelia, Georgia, went on to her spiritual adventure on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Ann was born January 27, 1938, in Conley Springs, North Carolina, to the late McGruder and Virginia Lucille Byrd Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, JB Heard; son, Joseph Billy Heard; grandson, Jordan Mack Dallas Hood; step-father, Mark Marlor; sisters, Agnes Heath, Catherine Hamby, and Mary Donaldson.
Ann was a very spiritual woman and strong in her faith. She raised her children in church to grow and learn in their faith as well. She worked in management over many years and was a very dedicated and hard-working woman. Ann enjoyed having family gatherings, and having her family together was one of her most favorite things of all. Throughout her life, some of her hobbies were sewing, gardening, working on puzzles, and water skiing. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her gravy and dressing. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Grandmother” and “Gigi.”
Survivors include sons Jimmy Heard and his wife, Linda, of Cumming; Alvin Heard and his wife, Sandy, of Cornelia; Joel Benjamin Heard, of Cornelia; daughters Sandy Heard, of Cornelia; Sandra Hood, of Clarkesville; Anna Heard, of Cornelia; Cindy Heard, of Alpharetta; eighteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Andrew “Bud” Bishop, of Powder Springs; sisters, Margaret Bennett, of Powder Springs; Brenda Priest, of Villa Rica; Edna Chaffin, of Douglasville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, as follows: 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. for the visitation and viewing and 2:00 p.m. for the service in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
