Allan “Peter” Hynninen

Allan “Peter” Hynninen, age 73, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away into Heaven on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Mr. Hynninen was born on May 27, 1949, in Fulton County, Georgia, to the late Arvo and Sara Bracewell Hynninen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Wendell Tedder, James Tedder, and Wayne Tedder.

Peter was in the 1967 graduating class of Wills High School in Smyrna, Georgia. During high school, he was dual enrolled at Chattahoochee Tech. Following graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army from 1969 to 1970, serving in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, Peter had various jobs working in tool repair, using the skills he learned while at Chattahoochee Tech. His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, hiking, or anything related to the outdoors. Peter also enjoyed bluegrass music, going to the shooting range, visiting with his friends and neighbors, and spending time with his beloved pets. Peter will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Tedder Hynninen, of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Karen Hynninen, of Marietta; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Onni, Allison and Bryan, Kristen, Andrew and Maisie; aunt Ellen Bracewell; uncle Carl Bracewell; brother-in-law and his spouse, Dennis and Denise Tedder; sister-in-law, June Tedder; nephews and their spouses, Dwayne and Wendy, Douglas and Melinda, Matt and Jennifer, Josh and Kacy, Wesley and Lindy, Nick, Aaron, Andy, Angie, and John; and numerous other great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the favorite charity of one’s choice.
